Of Kith and Kin by Laura Lee Dooley follows the story of Tae-hee as her life changes in an instant when a man claims to be her long-lost twin brother. Tae-soo was presumed dead decades ago, but now he is back and goes by the name Kit. As he is almost unrecognizable, Tae-hee rejects his story until he proves his identity. Slowly bringing him back into her life, Tae-hee takes him to KSH House, an estate sales and antiques business, and her chosen family. As Kit settles into the new surroundings, long-buried secrets are revealed that make their lives complicated once more. However, things take a dangerous turn when a friend dies, and the future of KSH House is hanging in the balance. But why did things become so complex? Is it because of Kit and his sudden appearance? Why are they in danger?

Author Laura Lee Dooley created a fascinating story with plenty of interesting characters. I loved Tae-hee. She was the life of the story. Her emotions and decisions laid the foundation for what happened next. At first, I didn’t really trust or like Kit, but his story made me reconsider him. I loved the different characters of different ethnicities and how well they all gelled together as part of KSH. The connection between Jong-hyun and Kit was incredible. The mystery behind Trax and Host was enough to make me want to read on. The fast pace was perfect, the character development was good, and the overall story was entertaining. The intense action had me hooked. I highly recommend Of Kith and Kin and cannot wait to see what happens next!
