Could not put the book down

Of Kith and Kin by Laura Lee Dooley is the fourth book in the Chronicles of the Threlphax. A stranger sits beside Tae-hee on the bus and greets her in Korean, in the familiar way an older brother would greet his younger sibling. Tae-hee could not believe the stranger was her older twin, Tae-soo. Tae-soo is supposed to be dead, but co-exists as Kit in this stranger’s body. The twins are unusual beings who remain young and healthy well beyond normal human years. The reunion between the twins is shaped by love and loss as they struggle to get to know each other. The twins had to confront what identity means when Kit asks Tae-hee if his looks trouble her. The twins’ reunion is filled with disbelief, longing, and heartbreak, and while something is missing, they still have a special connection.

Of Kith and Kin by Laura Lee Dooley has a complex plot that hooked me from the start until the end. There was so much happening that I could not put the book down; I was too afraid I would miss something. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat, and I turned the pages as fast as possible. The characters were well-developed and strong. At first, it was difficult for Tae-hee to come to terms with the fact that this stranger is in fact, her brother she thought was dead. This book was expertly written and has all the components to be a big success. I enjoyed reading the book, and it will stay with me for a while.
